1/ A look at the current distribution of Bitcoin wealth

Data: bitinfocharts.com/top-100-riches…
2/ Currently there are ~ 22 million BTC addresses

~ 50% have less than .001 BTC (currently worth ~ $4.50)

~ 10% have more than .1 BTC (~ $450)
3/ Less than 1 million addresses hold over 1 BTC (~ $4,500)

Less than 20,000 addresses hold over 100 BTC (~ $450,000)
4/ Less than 2,000 addresses hold over 1,000 BTC (~ $4.5 million)

123 addresses hold > 10,000 BTC (~ $45 million)

4 addresses hold > 100,000 BTC (~ $450 million)
5/ This BTC wealth distribution by address =! actual BTC wealth distribution by holders

Many holders own multiple bitcoin addresses & many exchanges hold many individuals balances in 1 address

The top 5 BTC addresses we know are currently all exchanges

6/ A little over 2 years ago I looked at some similar numbers

We have seen growth in the # of addresses in each range (altho ~ 1.5m new BTC have been mined)

The value of the BTC in each range has also gone up 650% (BTC @ $600 -> $4,500)

7/ In that post I also mention:

The # of ‘Blockchain.info’ wallets: 8.7m then to 30.7m now

The # of Coinbase ‘customers served’: 4.4m then to ‘20m+’ now

8/ I also mention the amount of ‘stuck’ supply due to lost private keys:

I’m curious if there’s been any recent analysis as to the magnitude similar to:

9/ All in all, how many people would you say own Bitcoin?
