A reminder of the very obvious:

Usually innocent people don't need their friends to show "guts" by *refusing* to testify about them -- they just want their friends *to testify truthfully* about them.
When you have a strong defense in a trial, you can fight to ADD MORE WITNESSES -- people to testify to your alibi, to your character, to all sorts of asserted truths that help your case.
But Trump is touting Roger Stone, who was exposed last week by *his own associate* Jerome Corsi for lying to Congress.

Corsi says he went to the Mueller grand jury, and told them "the truth" about a lie he and Stone told Congress. Literally.

Trump’s project always required creating his “own reality” —

Trump U. is a ‘great business’ (until it goes bankrupt);

Trump Admin will ‘make’ Mexico fund the wall (until it won’t & the US gov shuts down over it);

Trump will give his supporters ‘the news’ instead of the news..
This approach can shape public opinion in the short run, but that “propaganda effect” feeds bubbles which can eventually pop. Some things are easier to lie about than others...
So even one argues Trump has “gotten away” with more lies than a typical POTUS — sanctioned less by the political system, paying less of a price with his base (while Bush was pummeled for 1 lie about new taxes) — consider the two areas where Trump is facing swift backlash...

New: Federal prosecutors in NY unimpressed with Cohen’s DMX defense, they recommend a “substantial” term of about four years in jail.
Breaking in NY prosecutors new filing:

“Michael Cohen’s decision to plead guilty rather than seek a pardon for his manifold crimes does not make him a hero.”

They ask the judge to imprison him for about 4 years.
NY prosecutors: Cohen’s campaign crimes for Trump “struck a blow to one of the core goals of the federal campaign finance laws: transparency.”

1/ I'm stunned, but not surprised by AT&T's decision to extended their #Friends licensing deal with Netflix through 2019. A perfect example of, despite saying they were committed to winning in SVOD, Big Media wants to have their cake, eat it to - and then hope they get a 3rd cake
2/ #Friends is one of Netflix's most valuable titles. It's one of the most celebrated sitcoms, one of Netflix's most popular series, and has a whopping 236 episodes of tonnage - and a fervent fanbase
3/ AT&T could (and should) have simply moved #Friends to HBO, their leading SVOD asset. Imagine the impact on customer acquisition - all of a sudden the press coverage inundates all Friends fans to get HBO, if they haven't already!

Friends who are sexually active with new partners, what’s your STD testing policy? My minimum is I take HIV tests every 3-6 months and I’m vaccinated for HPV. As for the partner, if someone isn’t tested for HIV and has decent history it’s a definite no.
Oh and of course I always offer to show actual test results and expect the same, don’t want to be shady about it.
(I post about this topic very intentionally on here, because I know not all of y’all are taking proper care of your health and I want to raise awareness and give you a gentle reminder to think about this stuff for yourself too 💛)

people mean well but saying "if you're mentally ill, reach out" is just... I see it from other MI people too. But like, we know the hotlines exist, we know we have doctors.
not saying don't share resources with people, but it all just feels very simplistic tbh. even if you can, phoning a hotline isn't necessarily helpful for many people anyway.
I wish people would realise that even with therapy, meds, supportive family and friends, psychs, hotlines, etc., many of us are still going to be very mentally ill.
