1. On North Korea
Peace has broken out between the two Koreas, and N. Korea is no longer threatening to rain nukes on the U.S. That is unbelievable and tangible progress, but Trump critics complain about nirvana not having been achieved already.
2. Is there any question whatsoever that our situation with North Korea is better today than it has ever been over the last 30 years or more? The only debate is about how much better, and the jury is still out on that. Unwillingness to acknowledge any progress at all is galling.
3. Have Trump critics never seen how complex negotiations proceed? Of course North Korea is going to negotiate hard. If the criterion for Trump's success with North Korea is full denuclearization tomorrow with no further negotiations, that tells you something about the critics.
4. Just think about this. North Korea denuclearization has never even been a subject of discussion during any U.S. administration. Tell me which U.S. president even broached the subject with North Korea. Why is that? Simple. It was never considered even possible.
5. Now you realize the enormity of what Trump has accomplished on North Korea already. No matter how long it takes to get there from here, Trump has put the denuclearization on the table. If you can't give him any credit for that, you are an irredeemable partisan zealot.
6. And here is the thing. Every time Trump hits a bump on the road in negotiations with Kim Jong Un regarding denuclearization, ask yourself this question: "Who are you rooting for?" If you're an American and the answer isn't Trump, hang your head in shame.
7. American mainstream media invariably reports any glitch in negotiations between Trump admin and North Korea barely suppressing its glee. Whose side are you on, for crying out loud? And then they wonder why some perceive them as "enemy of the people."
