Rodgers career numbers vs Brady don’t tell the whole truth and I’m here to expose it. A thread:
Packers fans love to use Brady’s career passing numbers and playoff numbers vs Rodgers in comparison. They just completely ignore this. Brady started 94 regular season games and 14 playoff games before the passing spike in 2007.
The numbers from the last 5 seasons, which include 2 superbowl seasons for Brady, tell a different story. Brady leads in completion %, yards, td’s, passer rating, yards per attempt, and adjusted yards per attempt.
Want to look at playoff stats? Let’s go further back. Since 2010, they have been quite similar, no? And this doesn’t even account for garbage time touchdowns, the Rodgers staple.
Times Rodgers threw a td in a playoff game with 6 minutes or less remaining, trailing by 3 scores(garbage time):
2011: 1 (vs giants w 3 mins left, down 17)
2012: 1 (vs 49ers w 1 min left, down 21)
2016: 1 (vs falcons w 6 mins left, down 29)

Brady has thrown 1 in 37 playoff games
You know what else is funny about Rodgers the stat whore? How little they run the ball in the redzone. Should Brady get penalized for simply handing the ball off on the 2 yard line? A closer look..
Lmao. This is cute. That’s almost a 70% decrease in rushing touchdowns.
Playoffs? Pats have 25 in 19 games, 1.31 per game. Packers have 13 in 15 games, .86 per game. Respectable, but again that's a margin of 65%. Not really in the same stratosphere. Again, what are Brady’s numbers if they were less run heavy in the red zone?
This is points per drive, rankings by year. On average: Pats rank 3.4 in points per drive. Packers rank 7.8
In conclusion: stats are for losers. Winning football is made within the context of any game, not on a boxscore. But don’t forget that Brady DOES have the stats. He wins like Montana and puts up stats like Rodgers/Manning. 3x MVP, 5x SB Champion. The goat
Just for laughs, never forget what Brady did vs the Seahawks and Falcons. Numbers in the 4th q and OT:
I'm gonna continue this a little more. There are more mythical notions we need to dispel
Despite everyone saying Brady was 'carried' to his first 3 rings, the Patriot scored the 5th most points in the league from 01-04. 2 of the teams ranked ahead played in domes. Brady played outside on grass (not turf, grass) in freezing temps
Did Brady light it up in the playoffs in his first real season, playing in this climate? No, he was a clutch game manager who made the winning plays at the right time
But by 2004, with the Patriots going for their 3rd superbowl in 4 seasons, Brady put together the best singular playoff season of any qb in the 01-04 era.
