This statement from Mueller’s office isn’t good for Buzzfeed, even if the story turns out to be partially accurate. They made a very specific bombshell allegation in there, and if you’re going to commit like that you’d better have all the receipts.
It’s highly unusual for the Special Counsel to issue a statement like this, especially since they know how the Trump gang will use it. I don’t think they’d make this statement unless something was off.
And sure enough, the righties are already seizing on Mueller's statement.
Right now, Trump is trying to decide whether to bash Buzzfeed with Mueller's statement, even though he has a dim crime-boss realization that it might backfire.
