1. My sense is the General must have been utterly frustrated after ED lit the powder keg & swiftly left. He’s been made the fall guy in recent crises & was looked like an artless buffoon during the recent doctors’ strike. The latest bombshell must have been one straw too many.
2. Where’s he was ready & willing to be the public face of resolving the doctors’ strike, this time he’s been conspicuously non-public over what is a far bigger crisis. Whatever he’s done behind the scenes, the General deliberately chose not to lend his face to it.
3. As it is, we’re not sure who ordered the troops into the streets. Was it ED or the General as Acting President? The General could only have done it with cabinet approval but did this actually happen? This tweet from 6 days ago is probably instructive in the greater scheme👇🏿👇🏿
