Only about 10% of all the generic medicines consumed in the UK are actually manufactured here, according to expert testimony from representatives of the pharmaceutical sector to the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee in December 2017.

(Note: the original date of the testimony's pretty much irrelevant, since they also state it would take a decade to build up the UK's domestic production of such medicines.)
