Honestly voting for a billionaire is so obviously self-defeating it's beyond comprehension. Like being in a hospital but voting for the disease.
The pitch for a billionaire: "Our status quo is very obviously leading us into ever greater political instability and generational poverty, not to mention an extinction level climate threat. Let's be led by the people who profited massively from the status quo."
Look at this shit that just *presupposes* that profit is the ultimate virtue.

bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
Once you're making a buck off climate change, climate change is a product.

Which means you WANT it to continue.

And worsen.

When it gets worse, that's a new product.

You see?

But yeah let's vote for billionaires and CEOs.

Let's run the country like a business.
It's perfect that the story came from Bloomberg, a news service named after a billionaire, but it could really have come from anywhere.

What if the headline instead read "United States Prepares Global Summit to FIGHT Climate Change"?

That seems ... I don't know ... better?
Survival shouldn't be a luxury item.
Justice shouldn't be a luxury item.
Health shouldn't be a luxury item.
Education shouldn't be a luxury item.
Saying we can't afford to provide our population—our ENTIRE population—with what should be the very basics, should be immediately and roundly disqualifying.

We can't afford not to afford them.
If we want to cut costs, we should cut luxury items first.

Billionaires are a luxury item.

We can do without yachts and private jets and 200 acre estates and unoccupied midtown penthouse apartments.

We can't do without teachers.

That's obvious, right?
The fact that my saying that would be deemed "radical" in mainstream media tells you just how radical our discourse has been allowed to become.

If the notion that survival shouldn't be a luxury item is radical, then I say this:

Bring on the radicals.
Counterpoint: the uber-wealthy have so much money horded and so little idea what to do with it that they're covering pizzas and hamburger buns in gold just to have a $2000 snack to buy.

As to 'how,' the first step would be recognizing we have a greed problem that is literally killing us.

The second step would be resolving to solve the problem.

The rest will be complicated, but we know complicated things are achievable once we have the first 2 steps.
This is not about "getting rid" of wealth or prosperity. Prosperity is good.

It's just not as important as survival.

A system that makes extreme prosperity for a few more important than survival for all is a deeply sick system.

Again, this is obvious, right?
"Hey the problem is what you're talking about has never worked, and don't give me [gives an example of when it worked]" lol.

We're not talking about eliminating wealth. We're talking about priorities.

A country that has already secured the basics can afford luxury items.
My kindred, may I present:

How a normal person talks.
Love too sit around with my kindred, talkin’ cartoons.
