Thoughts on "right-wing"/"reactionary" Catholic Twitter. #thread
For context on my views:

Many Catholics online are interested in radical political philosophy.

Integralism, the Church's teaching on politics, is a common buzzword.

If you're not clear on what it means, see thejosias.com
@sancrucensis is one of the editors of the @josias_rex. He is a Cistercian monk, deeply committed to the orthodoxy and love of the Holy Catholic Church.
You can also see my own organization @tradistae / tradistae.com. Our goal is to present the teachings of the Church and the philosophic revival of the Josias in layman's terms and to organize political praxis.
That being said, there is a large and boisterous section of twitter that, rather than assenting to the slogan of the Josias "non declinavit ad dextram sive ad sinistram" [neither to the right nor to the left], assert that the Church's teaching are most in line w/ the (alt-)right.
In this reactionary/right-wing of Weird Catholic Twitter, I have seen a continued rise in attitudes which are deeply uncharitable and content which is downright abhorrent.

(I have no interest in personally attacking anyone here: names are covered up)
Integralists are not communists, nor do we dissent in any way from the Church's teaching on sexuality and the family.

Yet because we often disagree with the right, these false accusations are hastily and frequently made.
I have also witnessed an EXTREME absence of charity, to the point of suggesting that integralists are attempting to subversively undermine the Church and the disgusting statement below about noted integralist and friend @Vermeullarmine (who you should follow)
There has also been an increase in "ironically" promoting the Confederate and the Nazi Regimes.

There is time when Extremely Online Irony crosses a line. This is far past it.
Finally, I have seen many who will explicitly argue that the Nazis and the Confederate South did nothing wrong.

At this point, these reactionary Catholics (even if they started as irony-posters) have abandoned the Church's teaching for a deeply disordered political ideology.
Given all these things, I am going to be unfollowing and avoiding engagement with this reactionary/alt-right wing of twitter.

Pray for all these poor young Catholics who are being memed in a direction deeply unhealthy to the soul.
This doesn't mean I'm not good friends with many Catholics with right-wing leanings, though we disagree (very strongly at times)! You should follow @aChanticleer @1renist @HonorAndDaring and @DrDistribuDad
To clarify, as an integralist, here’s what I’m absolutely refusing to engage with:

—anyone who promotes, “ironically” or otherwise, the Nazi and Confederate regimes

—anyone promoting, “ironically” or otherwise, racial hierarchy, such as the supremacy of the “white race”
—anyone promoting, “ironically” or otherwise, contempt for the poor, the weak, or the lowly

—anyone who is unable to treat their Catholic brethren with respect, dignity, and charity

(This doesn’t mean one can't be heated—there’s a place for that. It means don’t accuse orthodox Catholics as being “subversives” or “needing to be hanged” because they disagree w/ you)
God bless everyone who spends time on this dreadful website.

Make sure you are discussing your social media usage with your spiritual adviser!
Praise be Jesus Christ, now and forever.
