Chris Grayling has explicitly blamed the EU for Brexit this morning: "We want to work with the EU to reach a deal but if they are not prepared to do that – they will have to take responsibility that we are heading towards a no-deal exit."
Repeat after me... The UK chose to Brexit. Brexit is not something being imposed on us by the EU. They wanted us to stay. They still want us to stay. They would happily see us stay. Every single consequence of leaving is on us, and only on us.
Brexit is not the fault of the EU. Neither is it the fault of Remainers, businesses, or other convenient scapegoats. Responsibility for Brexit is mainly shouldered by the Tories, first amongst them Theresa May. Labour's super weak opposition means they shouldn't get a free pass.
If you voted Leave, Brexit isn't your fault. But if you continue to circulate lies, continue to support policies that would destroy our economy and the future of our young people, continue to refuse to look at the facts, then it jolly well is!
And if you're part of the media, providing a soapbox, a megaphone, a platform for politicians and influencers to disseminate utter falsehoods about Brexit, WTO etc. then Brexit is your fault and your responsibility too. You can do better. You should do better. You must do better.
