Actually she didn’t insist. They repeatedly made the discussion about Assad to distract from the point she was making about destructive US wars. This is an instance of cable news pundits ganging up on someone bc they can’t accept their anti war position
People really should watch the video above, it’s a perfect example of how pro war the mainstream press is. @TulsiGabbard presented a very sensible and calm argument against US wars, and their response was outrage and eye rolls

Tulsi should have responded to @morningmika by asking if she agreed with her father Zbigniew Brzezinski’s policy of arming the mujahideen, the precursor to Al Qaeda. Does Mika think Al Qaeda is an enemy of the US?
Regardless of what you think of Tulsi, whether you love her hate her or are indifferent, it’s clear that the mainstream refuses to allow any space for an anti war argument. Opponents of a war agenda are portrayed as cranks no matter how articulate and reasonable their argument.

1/ Hi Clifford, thank you for your polite and thoughtful question. It is indeed one worth asking. I don’t think the term imperialism applies to modern day Russia or China. This is not a defense of their foreign, economic or military polices, its just a dispute over terminology.
2/ Imperialism is a structured relationship to transfer value from a poor country’s economy to a rich country’s economy, or to restructure power in a way that serves the rich country, and it’s usually enforced through military force.
3/ China’s economic policies in parts of Asia and Africa may be problematic and unfair but they are not enforced by its global military might or its control over the global currency.

1/ Even when the US withdraws from areas it is occupying it finds a stupid way to do it.
2/ Trump is going to hand over north eastern Syria to Turkey and its local Sunni extremist mercenary forces who hate the Kurds, like militias from Der Ezzor who are part of Euphrates Shield forces, in addition to Jeish al Islam remnants from Douma.
3/ This will create the perfect zone for a revival of ISIS and similar forces who will have a second chance to pursue their goals and threaten the fragile stability that was emerging in Iraq and Syria.

Let me see if I got this right. For the past two years, we've been hearing incessantly that "Russia meddled in our democracy" - not just from Democrats who originated it, but from idiot Republicans who very much miss the Cold War. (thread)
Democrats claim that Russia meddled because it wanted Trump to win over Hillary Clinton. But the chief source for "Trump's Kremlin ties" claim is the Steele Dossier, which was entirely bought and paid for by Clinton's campaign, using Perkins Coie and the DNC as cut-outs.
Republicans agree that Russia meddled, but say it was to "sow chaos" because Putin Bad, and this gives them an excuse to perpetuate the Empire. They figure Trump will eventually leave, but their racket is forever.

If Trump tried to pardon Paul Manafort, it would probably be struck down by the courts. Even if it weren’t, Manafort would be hit with state charges immediately. If that all fell through, Manafort would face no criminal liability, and would be REQUIRED to testify against Trump...
The only question here is whether Paul Manafort, with his fancy lawyers, would be so ignorant of the law as to think that Trump would, or even could, free him with a pardon. The answer is no. Manafort is an idiot, but not that kind of idiot....

3-Since the pledge was first used in private in 2013, the #Syrian leadership has stuck to its vow and made it clear that there can’t be a political solution until every inch of the country is taken back under State control first. This fundamental premise continues today
