This anthology #ItsNotAboutTheBurqa was edited by Mariam Khan who wanted to bring together different Muslim women’s voices to show that we are not monolithic. And what does the “brother” 👆🏽 do? Lectures about who he thinks is and isn’t appropriate for the anthology.
There is a reason that my essay, called “Too Loud, Swears Too Much, Goes Too Far,” talks about the rock and the hard place between which Muslim women are caught. I thank the “brother” 👆🏽for being Exhibit Hardplace. For Exhibit Rock, see the racist shits who write to me regularly:
