2. It's no accident that in school we're taught that the form of govt in the US is a democracy. Our MARXIST textbooks, politicians & #FakeNews say the same thing.

How many times do we hear politicians say that a certain act, idea, or bill is a potential threat to our democracy?
3. Problem is, nothing could be further from the truth. Our country is not a democracy, IT IS A REPUBLIC.

Our founders saw that democracy was another form of tyranny. As such, they intended, and laid out the ground rules, for our great nation to be a republic.

Liberal feminism is what most people think of as “the feminist that just wants women to be equal with men and to have equal rights.” Lots of people find this hard to argue against unless they’re open misogynists.
Like all liberalism, liberal feminism focuses on the individual as the primary unit of society. The idea is that women are individual people as much as men are, so we should treat women fairly because we should treat ALL individuals fairly

1. It is true that until beginning of 21st century #populism was truly an "essentially contested concept" (Gallie).
2. Scholars not only disagreed about its exact meaning, they disagreed about its essence (genius): movement, style, ideology, cross-class coalition, economic program, etc.

To understand how Lincoln’s anti-slavery, strong federal government party morphed into the party of the Koch brothers & the KKK, I did some reading👇

The Democratic Party was the pro-slavery party of the Confederacy & rural America.
1/ Before the Civil War, Dems had disproportionate control over the federal government.

They had advantages in the electoral college, and the 3/5 rule gave slaveowners disproportionate power in Congress. The courts were packed with pro-slavery judges.
2/ The Democrats wanted a limited federal government because they knew the North, if given the chance, would end slavery.

Democrats vetoed federal funds for canals and highways because they understood such infrastructure would strengthen the industrialized North.
