The college admissions scandal reminded me of a story (read: thread). A family friend from Russia came to visit for my sister's medical school graduation. The evening before the main event, he contended that white people were objectively smarter than brown people. I objected.

The family friend turned to me and said, "You know, I take it back." And then he added, "I now see why white people in America are so freaked out. They have so many more people to compete with, people who are hungrier and work harder."
