What’s shown in this thread is heinous and desperate.

Hamas is a militant Islamist terrorist regime who’s had full control of Gaza since 2007, with literally billions of dollars in aid, and this is how they treat their own people.

Posting this has already enraged some people, as it doesn’t fit with their worldview that people are either oppressors or oppressed.

I and other British people fighting antisemitism get #FreePalestine replies daily, to posts about cats or football - that’s racist.

I rarely talk about Israel, except in its right to exist, but when you see videos like these, I do wonder where the outrage is by those who seek out British Jews to abuse them.

Many people truly truly care. But many people are ignorant or racist or both.

I don’t *want* to talk about Israel, but I do want to combat anti-Jewish racism, and unfortunately this is the new stick used to ‘justify’ the actions of racists, against Brits as the perceived ‘oppressors/Zionists/Jews’ used interchangeably, so in some ways it’s unavoidable.

When I want to help a cause, I promote charities/people/initiatives that are helping that cause. I don’t spend my time berating others, because that doesnt achieve what I set out to.

But sadly *some* people’s aims, in talking about Palestine, is primarily to abuse Jews.

When you see videos such as these showing Hamas’s treatment of its own Palestinian people, and so many staying quiet as it’s the wrong type of oppressor, not in keeping with the narrative they want to project, you have to ask the question - who are these people really helping?

I could’ve kept my mouth shut too for an easy life, but I don’t think what I’m seeing is right, and now I’ve seen it, I don’t feel like I can look the other way.

The irony is many swept along in the false anti-Zionism is not antisemitism wave will believe they’re doing the same.

I’m reluctant to make threads like this as it’ll be met with a ton of abuse, it won’t solve the Middle East peace crisis, and it won’t end antisemitism.

But in the name of trying to make a small difference by adding a moderate voice to the mix, here we go. #BeLouder

Finally, in talking about AS in this context, I in no way want to diminish the suffering of Palestinian people, I really hope that’s clear ❤️
