Uh... I'm pretty sure @rebexxxxa has zero idea what PROOF OF CONSPIRACY is about, and didn't even read the *summary* of the book online before writing about it. Great journalism, @rebexxxxa! Hey, question: is Mueller's report about MBS, MBZ, Broidy, Nader, Zamel, Israel, Iran...?
1/ The point here isn't to take @rebexxxxa to task specifically: *many* outlets hire non-journalists to blog blog-entries that aren't fact-checked, sourced, subject-informed, or the product of *any* research/expertise. Americans are just getting more and more pissed off about it.
2/ Any time you see "culture reporter" in a bio—whether here or with another non-journalist blogger who's never done any research/sourcing, @MaxwellTani at The Daily Beast—understand that the quality of the content is no different from your/my personal e-diary circa 2000 or 2001.
3/ The overlap between the subjects in PROOF OF CONSPIRACY and what we *think* might be in the Mueller report if we see *every scrap of it*—as is *made clear by public descriptions of the book*—is maybe 10% or 15%. *Any* journalist who contacted me I would've told that to. Jesus.

WP (my emphasis): "If collusion means what Mueller reasonably took it to mean—an 'agreement,' 'tacit or express,' with the Russians to interfere with the election, or, in effect, a conspiracy—it was always virtually unimaginable that collusion, *so defined*, would ever be found."
1/ Conway—writing in the WP—gets it: no one ever believed Trump had a before-the-fact tacit/express agreement with the Russians—either the IRA or GRU—to interfere in the 2016 election. And that's why—for all that Trump claimed his innocence of that accusation—no one ever made it.
2/ The most interesting articles that can be written right now are those noting how much the media got *right*. For instance, no one accused Trump of Conspiracy with the IRA or GRU—and Mueller found no such Conspiracy. On Obstruction, people thought maybe, and Mueller said maybe.

Just a clarification: Mueller found no chargeable conspiracy—and then looked at "coordination" under a definition identical to conspiracy. If, for instance, Trump was being bribed for his foreign policy—a collusive act—we'll find out (if at all) from one of the 20 pending probes.
1/ EDNY, for instance, is investigating—using, it appears, 4 cooperating Mueller witnesses: Barrack, Nader, Flynn, Gates—whether Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Bahrain and (yes) Russia were involved in an effort to bribe Trump via a "grand bargain" on sanctions and nuclear technology.
2/ If EDNY uncovers that Trump's foreign policy was the result of bribes set up by Broidy—whether the offer was made to Trump directly, or via Nader, or to Kushner via Nader or any one of a number of permutations—no will say it wasn't "collusion" because it wasn't Mueller's case.

(THREAD) The inability of U.S. journalists to understand three key legal terms—PROOF, INDICTMENT, and CONVICTION—is making discussion of the Barr Letter and the entire Trump-Russia investigation *impossible*. I'll try to remedy the problem here. I hope you'll read on and retweet.
1/ I knew things were bad when @maddow put up two straight 100% WRONG chyrons on her show on MSNBC last night—"Barr & Rosensten Conclude Mueller Doesn't Have Evidence Trump Obstructed Justice" and "Barr: Mueller Finds No Proof of Collusion, Doesn't Offer Judgment on Obstruction."
2/ @maddow has focused on Trump-Russia more than any U.S. journalist—so if her show has LITERALLY NO IDEA what happened on Sunday and can only express it in on-screen chyrons that are 100% WRONG, America's in real danger of having our Trump-Russia discourse descend into nonsense.

Complaints were then made to my MP #VinceCable. He liaised with the #Metpolice & #LBRUT. And then weeks later, the search warrant was completely changed & was passed off as the search warrant executed on the day of the raids.

Pretty sure the @PressSec's job is to tell the truth to the American people, not lie constantly, but I don't see you writing fucking articles about that.
What pisses me off about these articles is how transparently bullying they are. Sanders is arguably one of the most powerful people in the country right now, and has undeniably abused that power, so let’s pick on the small restaurant owner!
Opinion columnists know there’s no risk is hanging up on a small business owner. And also no actual important opinions being shared. Just more piling on a person who made a moral judgement.
