I found this old picture frame in the trash on the way to work today. I liked it. So I’m carrying it with me to document my day through a new lens. Ready? Here we go.
First things first, my morning commute:
Transferring trains at Times Square
Shout out to the woman on the train who saw me struggling with this frame and offered to snap a pic with me in it!
Morning breakfast club with @sutiandong and @jessicapeltz!!
Adding some pizzazz to a local sign
Crosswalks and taxis while waiting for the light to change
Reflections in a store window
I found a willing volunteer to frame “Art” for me :)
“Want me to go inside of it?”
“Sure!”
“Seriously?”
“Totally!”
Baby on board
Pretty good fit
OH: “Is that a mirror??”
Other friend (gives her a look): “NO!!!”
Waiting
“I’m trying to get a picture that frames the Empire State Building. Can you guys help me?”
“Ok I’m trying to get a BETTER picture of the Empire State Building. Can you help me? Oh wait... you don’t speak English?”
Ok made it to work now actually time to get stuff done...more to come later! For now here’s our lovely attendant and front desk associate of the building.

In case anyone was wondering, yes I AM actually still working today. Here’s proof.
Actual email I just received: "I think I just spotted you walking down Broadway with a giant frame - sorry if it was you and I didn't stop to help!"

New York is the best.

“...are you exhibiting that?”
“No. It’s just...mine.”
“Oh. Um...go in, I guess?” @AAFNYC
Him: “I’m getting a window into your mind right now.”
Me: “What do you mean by that exactly??”
Heading home

Made it home 🐱
Thanks everyone for all of your support as I "framed" my day in #NYC yesterday. Here's a post I wrote to capture this story in blog form: medium.com/@bethanymarz/h…
OK SO LAST UPDATE: The capstone to my #framethread day was this: The @nytimes using this photo as the cover image on their piece covering NYC's Affordable Arts Fair.

All goes to show (I suppose) that the most affordable art of all... is free.
