1) Norway+ - where does it get us?
Lot of attacks tonight on #PeoplesVote supporters for not getting behind Norway+ (or Common Market 2.0 as it's been rebranded)
But really, that rebrand tells you everything that is wrong with Norway+
It's spin - sleight of hand
#RevokeArticle50
2) The very name of Common Market 2.0, like "Norway for Now", is an intention to pull the wool over the eyes of Leavers (and occasionally Remainers)

It's an attempt to treat Brexit as a tickbox exercise - the most technical of technical #Brexits. But lets fast forward 1 year
3) It's March 2020, the drama of the last few weeks is long behind us, and we're finalising the details on Norway+
But Leavers hate it, and will despise it as soon as the first ruling on new regulations comes through from the EU (via the EFTA court)
4) They won't buy "Free Movement of Labour" and the "Emergency Brake" fallacy will fall at the first hurdle. It won't be the "brexit we voted for" leavers will say.

But Remainers won't support it because we didn't want it either - we saw momentum building for a #PeoplesVote
5) At best Norway+ will get us over the line - but it will have no supporters long term & will just be a point of conflict for this whole debate. Remainers will ask why we left so pointlessly and Leavers will complain of a stitch up - it's not sustainable
6) You cannot win by pretending that FoM is a bad thing, nor by trying to fool people that the EFTA court is completely different from the ECJ one. It's just a distraction, no country would choose to be both in the SM & CU but not have a say in what rules are applied
7) And finally - if you are going to stand up in Parliament and say "agree to my proposal and we can leave on May 22nd and skip a #PeoplesVote", well, OK, but don't expect #PeoplesVote supporters (who can at least point to a significant mandate) to line up behind you.
8) @NickBoles tried the trick of appealing to his brexiters by saying "look, this really is brexit, no EU elections, no PV"

But you can't appeal to both sides, you have to pick one because there's no common ground
9) The story tonight should be the 230 Tory MPs who voted against *everything*

They're the real menace here, 2/3rds of the ruling party against anything put in front of them

Instead we're talking about splits on the Remain side
