Stop the heavy breathing.

Barr made two central assertions re Mueller’s top line: 1) Trump camp didn’t conspire/coordinate w Russians. 2) Mueller laid out evidence on both sides of obstruction Q, but chose to stay neutral on charges.

Anonymous sources have disputed neither.
I’ve always assumed there will be bad stuff for Trump in the Mueller report because some bad stuff has been public for months. We’ll see it soon. Barr knows that if he mischaracterized Mueller’s big takeaways, his reputation would be shattered.
Mueller’s team is working with Barr to finalize redactions. Mueller has not contradicted Barr’s memo (we’ve seen him issue public corrections on other matters). AG has also proactively offered to testify before Congress on this process. My piece: townhall.com/tipsheet/guybe…

THREAD: I spent some of the weekend reviewing several inconsistencies in Dr. Ford's account of what allegedly happened to her ~36 years ago. As I've said before, she did not strike me as someone who invented her story. But human memory is a tricky & unreliable thing...
Because there is zero contemporaneous corroboration of her allegation (and because her accusation is the only one that appears credible based on the available evidence, for reasons I detail in my analysis), her memory & her 2012 therapy notes form the crux of this case...
Discrepancies & inconsistencies therefore cannot be dismissed as nitpicky irrelevancies. On this score, I'll note four points -- all of which veteran sex crimes prosecutor Rachel Mitchell also enumerated in her thorough and dispassionate review of the evidence...

I’ve read the Post story & am writing on it for @Townhall tomorrow. Overall: Direct allegations of serious misconduct from an on-the-record accuser are more credible than indirect characterizations of an anonymous source’s account...
Ford’s therapist’s notes from a session 30 yrs after the alleged incident — which Ford says represent the 1st time she discussed her claims in depth w/ anyone (& that also didn’t mention BK’s name, and contained what she Ford concedes is a mistaken detail — aren’t *nothing*...
But they’re also not even close to dispositive contemporaneous evidence. So we’re still looking at unsubstantiated (and probably *unsubstantiatable*) allegations from a lone accuser that have been strongly denied by both people she implicates...

1) This vague allegation is being circulated by people other than the woman in question, who has declined to comment. Its substance — categorically denied by Kavanaugh — covers a gray zone ranging from a sexually awkward encounter to an attempted assault when they were both 17...
2) The alleged experience took place ~36 yrs ago. Even if you take it 100% at face value, it might mean that a high school boy didn’t slam on the brakes while drunkenly making out & wanting more in 1982. At worst, it was arguably attempted assault. Again, he denies it totally...
3) Let’s say it’s false. How can a 50-something successfully defend himself against this sort of hazy accusation-by-proxy about his sexual conduct in high school? No matter what he & his allies (including dozens of bipartisan women who knew him in HS) say, it’s impossible...

Mueller's report said: "while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him."
