Aside from my annoyance w/the MSM ignoring all the women and men of color candidates, I think it’s bullshit that Gov. Inslee isn’t even getting a fraction of the attention bestowed on the B boys. He just quarterbacked a public option for WA but crickets. WTAF? 😒

In general I just expect the MSM to be out of step with the grassroots and marginalized demographics across the board so I always take their coverage with a shaker of salt and throw shade accordingly. They’ll cover who their predominantly White audience wants to see, period.
@darakass @jackjonesbabe Having said that I think this is also why the ideological splits within the D party don’t become as readily quantifiable until the vote tallies and fundraising numbers show up to contradict the MSM’s preferred crushes.
@darakass @jackjonesbabe Case in point they sold Bernie so hard in 2016 that to this day they still can’t fathom how he lost by 4 million votes to a person they threw shit at nonstop. They’re so immersed in Bro world and refuse to see anything happening outside of their bubble.

@CKuitert You don’t run to the right for conservative White votes in the Democratic primary, they aren’t the base of the party therefore they don’t set the agenda for the primary or platform. That’s not even how this shit works.
@CKuitert Beyond that it’s not a wise strategy for winning the D primary bc for every potential conservative vote the White guy candidates flip by omitting social justice/civil rights from their message they lose base D votes (women/POC) for being a weak ass unreliable ally.

When people say that they don't think gender should be a factor in determining our presidential candidates,I think,"Nice thought. But the majority population a.) has been excluded from leading the country since its inception & b.)there are plenty of women better than all the men.
In other words, it's high time a woman was our president, and I actively want to prioritize electing a woman in 2020--because a.) there are spectacular women candidates, b.) it's the 100th anniversary of women getting the right to vote and c.) Trump should be beaten by a woman.
While we're considering this, let's look at the facts. Trump is a horrible misogynist, a serial sex abuser, and the degree to which he has alienated women was central to his party's crushing defeat in the 2018 election. Next, in 2016, a woman got 3 million more votes than him.

People are feeling disappointed that the GOP is still in control of the Senate, that the Blue Wave supposedly didn't happen. But we had a party in power that's utterly uninterested in allowing democracy to happen. And even with dramatic voter suppression efforts:
We ended GOP control of the House.

We elected over 100 women tonight.

Adam Schiff is the chair of the House intelligence committee, and has expressed keen interest in stepping up the Russia probe.

We elected a bunch of young, FIERCE candidates.
It's not just the national races, either.

We elected a bunch of attorneys general with fight in them.

Women and men of color. LGBTQ people. Muslims. Native Americans. Jews.

We put power in the hands of exactly the people the GOP wants to keep out of power.
