“The Lord is...my Deliverer.” Ps.18:2
One mystery of faith is why God, whose power & love know no bounds, sometimes chooses to deliver us instantaneously from bondage or crisis & other times so gradually, the change is almost indiscernible. We just realize one day, we made it.->
Needless to say, the difference can be our level of obedience but I’m suggesting today that there are times it’s entirely God’s own doing. I think perhaps the difference is in what He’s most determined to reveal to us in that particular season:

His supremacy or His sufficiency?
God’s supremacy: He comes in like a whirlwind reminding us that He is peerless. Nothing’s beyond His absolute authority or His arm. Nothing can detain or deter Him. He reminds us He’s no less able, no less willing to work a wonder in an instant. His aim is our awe. Our holy fear.
God’s sufficiency: This is when God teaches us to literally live off of Him like an IV drip. To draw divine strength from Him day by day or, in the thick of it, hour by hour, or in the thicker of it, minute by minute, or we know we won’t make it. It’s that 2Cor 1:9-11 experience.
In our humanness, we’d all prefer the 1st scenario. “God, show me how immense & omnipotent You are!” But we know that’s not where the real stuff of intimacy takes place. It’s in the intensity of the day to day. This is when we don’t just see a healing. We come to know the Healer.
It’s been the latter where I’ve come to love Him so & trust Him. It’s been Christ’s sufficiency that has made Paul’s words my own: “I KNOW the One I believe in.”Translation: I don’t just believe in Jesus. I KNOW JESUS. Do not dream you’re less loved because it’s taking more time.
My sister, my brother,
All who are in Christ,

Your deliverance is coming.
But your Deliverer has already arrived.
