"Environmentalists are in a panic tonight" is how celebrating news side anchor Bret Baier, would-be moderator of Democratic primary debates, introduced this story.
In a 2009 email, Washington managing editor Bill Sammon directed Fox's "news" side to "refrain from asserting that the planet has warmed ... without IMMEDIATELY pointing out that such theories are based upon data that critics have called into question." mediamatters.org/blog/2010/12/1…
A decade later, Fox's "news" reporters are still doing this. Sammon, by the way, is the guy making the pitch to Democratic presidential candidates that they should do town halls and debates on the network.
You could make the argument that Fox's "news side" questioning of climate science has been as destructive as the "opinion side" championing of bigotry. The network helped ensure lockstep GOP opposition to climate legislation at a crucial time. mediamatters.org/blog/2018/10/1…
*celebrated, not celebrating
