McGahn was cited in the Mueller report more than any other witness on the question of whether or not Trump obstructed justice. One key example was when McGahn refused to carry out Trump's order to call the DOJ and have Mueller fired in June 2017. nytimes.com/2018/01/25/us/…
If McGahn refuses to testify before the House Judiciary Committee, he runs the risk of being held in contempt of Congress.

Trump has invoked executive privilege over the Mueller report and evidence underlying it.

years ago, my dad, who’s a man of science (a cardiothoracic surgeon), was operating on a very sick patient. they had an aortic dissection, which if you are familiar with, is a tear in the inner layer of the aorta that allows the heart to pump blood to the rest of your body.
aortic dissections are nasty business. it can cause a ballooning of your aorta, possibly causing further tears or even it bursting into your thoracic cavity, depriving the rest of your body from blood and oxygen. if that ever happens, you die within minutes.
