More bad news for Roscosmos. Yuri Yaskin, the Director General of the Research Institute for Space Instrument Engineering (NII KP), a Roscosmos subsidiary, traveled to Europe in April under the pretext of a business trip where he submitted his resignation.

This occurred amidst an internal audit initiated by Dmitri Rogozin. Now the FSB is investigating why he resigned (he apparently still hasn't returned to Russia). A source from Roscosmos says he likely fled before the audit discovered an embezzlement of funds. 2/

As a result of audits, 14 criminal cases have been initiated by the government. According to a source, Putin himself ordered the audit at a recent Security Council meeting. NII KP designs electronics and radio equipment, including devices that work with GLONASS and GPS. 3/

The previous Director General of another Roscosmos subsidiary, NPO Tekhnomash, Dmitry Panov was detained last month related to fraud and suspected embezzlement of 410.2 million rubles for the reconstruction of the Perm Powder Factory. 4/
