Makes sense to examine a presidential candidate’s financial history, but given her standing in her area of law, the headline should probably be “Warren charged surprisingly low consulting rates.”
For context: That’s about half the hourly rate you could expect pay to hire a partner at a biglaw firm like Akin Gump or WilmerHale. Would’ve been lower during the period Warren was doing the work, but not THAT much lower.
The newsworthy bit here isn’t the hourly rates; it’s whether there are any particular firms or sectors that paid a substantial chunk of her total income.
