The guy who wrote "the death of expertise" would like to weigh in on a family whose story he knows nothing about in order to scold them for not acting homeless enough. What a petty, miserable, yet completely on-brand thing to do.
Anyone who follows Tom Nichols because you think he's one of the "good, smart" conservatives: read through the responses to see him double down on his arrogance, and argue poor people shouldn't be pregnant. He's an irredeemable asshole who gets off on others' misery. Fuck him.
I won't be able to see, because I've blocked him, but he'll likely sic his trollish sycophants on me, because targeted harassment is also his schtick. Although usually he does that with women and early-career folks, so we'll see how it goes.
He deleted the original tweet, but remains both an asshole and strangely obsessed with the reproductive habits of others. I still stand behind everything I said above.
I mean, anyone who thinks we've been "compassionate" to the poor over the last 50 years doesn't know what the hell he's talking about, nor does he particularly care.
