I find it so weird that Bernie's (very good!) speech yesterday was billed/titled as "How Democratic Socialism Is The Only Way To Defeat Oligarchy and Authoritarianism." I'd love to know the thinking behind that.
"We want to convince people who are ignorant of or hostile to left lingo that democratic socialism is good, and we're gonna do it by telling them it's the path to defeating oligarchy and authoritarianism!"
Bernie's people have been outraged about the article in which some of his opponents were described as laughing about the speech, but they weren't laughing at the contents—the speech hadn't been given yet. They were laughing at the NAME.
It's a bad name. Good speech, bad name. Someone should have changed it before it went out.
