In the wake of my stuff on Biden's 1973 speech, a bunch of anti-Bernie people have tweeted at me about his 1972 newspaper essay. But when that essay hit the news, Bernie's people disavowed it—called it "dumb" and stupid." cnn.com/2015/05/28/pol…
And there wasn't any "times have changed" waffling, either. "It was intended to attack gender stereotypes of the '70s, but it looks as stupid today as it was then." Simple, straightforward, done.
The essay issue was one of the incidents, in fact, that I had in mind when I wrote this tweet in yesterday's thread.
If you still hold those writings against Bernie, that's your call. Not saying you shouldn't. But Biden is defending what he said and did back then, and saying and doing similar stuff now. Bernie isn't. It's a relevant distinction, IMO.
