How Readable is Your Ad?

A thread

A lot of writers create copies that just impress them and their clients alone.

They want to sound more "professional" but end up confusing the prospect that's reading the ad.

No matter your audience, your copy must...
Be easy to read.

There's this RULE in copywriting that says: "Your copy should be easy to read even for a 5th grader!

You don't want to make your prospect think too long.

The longer it takes them to understand what you're saying,

the harder it is for...
them to buy from you.

I see many 13-14 year old boys and girls brought to clinic with a bunch of reports of hormonal levels.

In a free market like india it is possible to walk into a lab and have as many tests as you can pay for without any prescription from dr.
Parents (sometimes their family doctors) get these tests done in a quest to find explanation for these adolescents "changed" behavior.
These behaviours are -
1. Staying up late and struggle to get up in the morning.
2. Irritable mood
3. Desire to stay away from immediate and extended family
4. More connect with friends
5. Food dada
6. Laziness like their body is suddenly filled with lead.(they become Helium with phonecall from a friend)

I get that literacy in religious studies in a lot of our contemporary discussions is rather low - exemplified in how we talk about Islam in particular, but other religions as well. But really, if you do not know, don't pretend that you do. Saying, "I don't know" is OK. #Thread
Take the oft-repeated idea that 'ISIS is Islamic' - because the group uses religious vocabulary and texts. This has been insisted upon in response to the Christchurch massacre. Why we're doing this in response to a far-right racist terrorist attack on Muslims, I don't know.
As a satire, I tackled that idea in CNN, by pointing out anyone can claim to be 'Islamic' with little effort: including Star Wars & Master Yoda. edition.cnn.com/2015/05/12/opi… (I have to say, this got me the worst hate mail eve, mostly from Star Wars fans. I'm sorry. Feel the force!)

It was in the fall of 1994 in Racine, Wisconsin. I had messed up & missed my immigration court hearing in Chicago because I was sitting in the local county jail like an idiot on some bullshit charges that were later dismissed but not before I sat there for a few months.
I was scared to death. I didn’t know what to do. I was 23 years old. Had a beautiful 20 year old American wife & a new born infant son. But I’m in deep trouble cause I missed my Immigration Court hearing for my Asylum application. I had no money for a lawyer. I was poor.
