As the Dutch-led investigation team today nails & names those responsible for downing Malaysian flight #MH17 (killing ten Brits) a thread on how the now UK Labour High Command's responded ATT.

Milne was careful AFAIK to not actually say or write MH17 but we know his reaction would have been the same 'we need to see the evidence' + Russian-sourced flak, as happened over Salisbury & the Skripals (until his lines became laughable).
Andrew Murray's MH17 reaction was cited by the Ukrainians last year as one reasons that they wouldn't be issuing any visas to him. kyivpost.com/ukraine-politi…
But this also came up ATT and Murray was asked about it by the Daily Mail. (Back when he was just seen as Len's offsider.) He tried to pretend that it was SARU* who said it and that he just spoke at one meeting. dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2…
*SARU (Solidarity with the antifascist resistance in Ukraine) was the pro-'separatists' far-left group Murray helped set up. Among its highlights was promoting a fake pro-Russian leftist Ukrainian group set up by Vladislav Surkov 👉 shirazsocialist.wordpress.com/2016/12/23/bor… It has now fizzled out.
It is interesting that Murray's book 'Empire & Ukraine' (which has a major Russian disinfo theme on its cover therealstopthewar.wordpress.com/2015/12/14/sto…) is the sole one of his not on Google Books. Plus Google spits this out. 🤔
Doubly interesting given that he deleted this 2014 tweet to a then DNR (Donetsk People's Republic) leader, Roman Noviskov. And yet also laughable given that the deleted tweet leaves this spy sitcom worthy gap.
Murray was Deputy and Corbyn was leader of the Stop The War Coalition, back in 2014, when they did this. thetimes.co.uk/article/corbyn…
Corbyn himself went on Russia Today three months after MH17. He stated his opposition to sanctions. MH17 wasn't mentioned. rt.com/news/186148-eu…
Very quickly after the plane was shot down the evidence gathering which has been essential to today's JIT charges began to be published. From people like @bellingcat. As with Salisbury, we knew pretty quickly who did it. Anything else is (Kremlin) flak.
And there were lefties ATT in the UK who warned others about the Kremlin, who thought it was "important to challenge the Russian version of events in Ukraine." Such as this group which John McDonnell has supported. 👉
