I cited this today to a friend in course of discussion US appetite for a "change" election. Not in a long time have Americans been as optimistic about their own personal financial situations as they are today news.gallup.com/poll/249164/am… 
Substantial majority rate their own personal financial situation as "good" or "excellent"
The Democratic base is looking for candidates who say, "It's not enough to get rid of Trump. We have to change EVERYTHING." But the big American majority is signaling to Democrats, "You are offering more change than we want."
It's possible that Trump's personal unpopularity may stampede moderate voters to support a radical candidate. But Dems would be wise to consider that a radical candidate may push moderate voters to stomach the otherwise unstomachable Trump
Democrats might consider that 2020 is the year for the message:
