I MCed for the first time @lumpleygames & @NightSkyGames #ttrpg Under Hollow Hills!
Here follow a long thread about it

It's the first show.
Ocasion: the Red Princess's Birthday
Place: Crossroads of the Four Streets
Season: Summer
Show: A Command Performance
Fairy Kinds: Trading, Working, Selling and Watching types.
They have in plenty: Coin
They hold dear: Kisses
They Crave: Acclaim & History

Notables NPCs:
The Poppy Queen
The Red Princess
Uline, the Poppy Captain
Octavia, the solitary witch
Passiflora, the cricket violinist
Frances, merchant of many things
Rainbow, goblin street seller
Spark, the scarecrow

Characters:
Williflina the Firefly Whisp, she's tiny and adorable.
Molten Bob the Troll, he's big, strong, yet very helpful.
Olaf the Interlooper, mysterious and sharp.

Most interesting scenes:
As Olaf walks to the lake, passing himself off to a fairy as royalty incognito, Rainbow, the goblin street seller intercepts. Olaf buys a stripe of red from a rainbow by kissing the Goblin. He falls in love.

Willy & Bob go to the scarecrow field. They talk to Spark and draw him out, finding out that he's in love with a poppy on the other side of the road, and that he knows a secret from the red princess that no one knows. They help him, he tells them. What?

The Red Princess has kissed someone! Who? Frances, the merchant of many things. Why? Because he gave her something that she needs. What? A crystal drop. What does it make? Once swallowed it turns the creature to a human. Oh!
They take Spark to his beautiful poppy joining them.

Olaf reaches the lake. Ignores Passiflora (poor thing) and swims to the tiny island at the center of it. There's a hut, in the hut there's Octavia, the solitary witch. They talk to each other and Olaf finds that Octavia wants to go to the show but fears someone recognizes her...

For what? For killing a fairy with cold iron, one that she was beholden to. What does Olaf do? He pockets something. What? That ugly memory. He has it, and its ertswhile owner erstwhile claim to it is already fading from everyone's minds. How did he do that? With a hug! ❤️

The Show starts:
Williflina as Acrobat with the help of Bob.
Lady Rosemarie as the Ringmaster.
Molten Bob with Bouts against all comers.
Ochiran the Stoneswalllower with Feats of grostequery
Falsop Goblin as a Clown
and ultimately...
Olaf with Novelties.

The show went well.
Although Willy went full winter has the Poppy Queen insults her poor act. Willy did not answer.
Bob made an incredible show by hunkering down.
Olaf threw candy, in them there was cold iron and she touched a fairy with it. Who? Frances!

The iron is pressed hard, cruelly and he dies. Other fairies did not understand that this was a true death.

As climatic choices, the season of this place is already advancing by the end of the performance. They captivated someone, the Poppy Queen, and she offered the opportunity to play the next show at the Poppy Castle!
They Captivated the audience and they shared freely coin.

All the characters gained "a bag full of poppy coins" trapping.
Olaf tried to moved the circus's season, he proceeded to winter.
He also tried to step from the fairy world to the other. The circus remained in the fairy one.

MC conclusions:
This game is awesome. The chain reaction of plays and creation of fiction is very fluid. The rule "a player can´t make three plays in a row" is really useful to understand what is REALLY imporant to make a play. Example?

The Olaf & Witch scene. Olaf first makes "size someone up" which lead to the "what do you hope will happen, what do you fear, and how prepared are you for reach" I gave the player the hope "to watch the show", the fear "of someone knowing that she broke law" and she was prepared!

But the player asked me "how did she broke the fairy law?" I that could easily lead to another play, but I asked her, the player, if she wanted to do something after knowing what it was. She said yes. I gave her the information, "the killed a fairy with cold iron".

That took her to play that incredible play "pocked something" that leads to one of my favorite tabletop roleplaying moments of my life. And I, as a MC learned that IT IS OK, to give info for free, honestly even without a move/play. RPG is a CONVERSATION ❤️

Challeging stuff: By far it was to literalize the metaphorical and metaphoricize the literal, mainly the obvious plays. I think it's somehow harder for us, non native english speakers since we lose some of the magic by translating (we play in Portuguese ofc).

Yet, we had a lot of fun. A lot indeed. It was a great time, everyone enjoyed the weirdness of the game, the wicked yet beautiful things that fairies do.
