So my friend runs this brilliant charity, which takes people with physical or intellectual disabilities, or from difficult circumstances, and turns them into a working crew on these bloody great big purpose-built tall ships which sail around the world.
It's the absolute dog's bollocks of a thing. It does something profoundly and unarguably good. Here's a statement by someone who's gone on one of the trips plus some photos.
Anyway, they're financially in major trouble. Turns out running two disability-enabled square-rigged tall boats is expensive.
Basically at the endgame now. They have one week to raise a million quid or it's probably game over. You can listen to my mate explain the problem and what they're trying to achieve on Radio Jersey here, 1h 45m in.
