Brit is right. Trump sneered at their misguided and failed ideas and expressed a disdain for their hatred of America. In other words, he disparaged their behaviors, not their being.
Regardless, it's politics at its ugliest, but it's politics, as Trump's subsequent barrage of tweets amply attest. He is attempting to make The Squad the face of the Democratic Party. No surprise there! A DNC chairman had hailed @AOC as the future of the Democratic Party. Own it.
You can't joke about terrorists like this and not get a reaction from Trump. You can't use diabolical rhetoric about 'concentration camps' and not get a reaction from Trump. You can't call the President motherf*cker and not invite a reaction from him.
It's true you could do all those things and perhaps not get a reaction directly from a typical modern POTUS, but one thing we know about Trump is that he is not typical -- for better and for worse.
Considering how far the Democratic Party has lurched to the left, Trump has cornered the party into a Hobson's choice:
a) Come to The Squad's defense and be tainted with the stain of Socialism, Anti-Semitism, and Open Borders, or
b) Cut them lose and be left with nothing.
