Distraction & focus are both muscles.

Every time you get distracted, you're reinforcing neural pathways for distraction.

Every time you override a distraction, you're reinforcing neural pathways for focus.

Choice is yours tbh
You'd be alarmed by how many peoples distraction muscle is swole as fuck.

But they're too distracted to even notice!

I said it before & I'll say it again.

Distraction is a modern day mental disease.

But people don't talk about it enough...

I will though
Everything is fighting for your attention nowadays.

Add the internet to the mix & boom.

Attention grabbing at scale.
What happens is the untamed mind is chaotic as it is.

Its just a flurry of thoughts coming left & right.

Add a stimulus to that, like an attention grabbing headline & BOOM, distraction is amplified.
Each time you succumb to a distracting thought, each time you ingrain it into your brain.

Repetition is the language of the neural pathways.
A distracted mind makes your life 10x more difficult.

Which is why we live in the most comfortable era in human history, but everyone is always bitching about something.

Why?

It's because their mind is chaotic.
'So how come everyone doesn't focus?'

Because focus requires work.

How many people do you consistently going to the gym?

'A few.'

Exactly, focus is going to the gym for the mind.
Only a few people will put in the effort.

And from the small party that put in the effort, most will quit.

Heck, you may fall into that boat.

How long have you began meditation, mindfulness & journaling before you gave up?
But there will be a very small amount of people who continue.

They take their mind to the gym everyday.

'Everyday??'

Ya.
Repetition is the language of the neural pathways, right?

Well this group decides to invest in their focus muscle.

They will fight thru the discomfort & make shit happen.
People who have a strong focus muscle get distracted thoughts as well.

But they have trained themselves not to act on it.

They will take care of business before going onto anything else.
Focus for Dummies:

▪︎meditate
▪︎time yourself
▪︎break down your workload
▪︎remove distractions
▪︎have a work area that subconsciously forces focus
Over & over again.

Keep going.

Your distraction neural pathways will weaken.

Your focus neural pathways will strengthen.
Life is different when you can control your focus at WILL.

You not only control your mind.

But you control your emotions.

When you control your emotions, you control your behavior.

Renewed results will manifest.
Like I said, the choice is yours.

You now have the knowledge.

But do you have the self awareness to execute?

Only time will tell....
