TWITTER POLICE FORCE
@AbdulMahmud01 & his followers are celebrating deaths of policemen who served meritoriously, killed by soldiers, like they deserved to die for our bad policemen. U wont know how emotionally harmful Nigerians are bcos we're good at selectively faking sympathy.
Contrary to assumptions that lack of coordination may have been a reason for the ugly incident in Taraba; without fear of contradictions, let me state there's been a solid coordination between @PoliceNG & @HQNigerianArmy since kidnapping attained national spread, in over 10yrs.
Even in the thick of Boko haram siege and confusion across Yobe, Borno and Adamawa, this size of inter-agency massacre didn't happen. Whatever happened in Taraba was a deliberate execution to set the Millionaire kidnapper free. QED!
It is naive to think otherwise, until proven.
The day special forces were deployed to inhibit protesters at COZA is the day I concluded the hierarchy of Nigeria's security forces have become thoroughly balkanized. Its in the grapevine that the military command within Taraba axis answer to peripheral non-military commands.
We are at a point where it seems like no Nigerian deserves to die except policemen. This is the calumny that extended from #EndSARS, where we all believed every voice behind #EndSARS is genuine, and not criminals. Its logical, if dangerous criminals in our midst were the loudest.
I dont understand how a society that produced a Chief Justice that collects money to set criminals free, & Govs who owe 7 months salary expect to have saintly policemen. A nation deserves d kind of police it has. Its to the benefit of criminals that @PoliceNG is demonized.
Frankly, @PoliceNG may no longer want to be part of whatever it is that's going on in Nigeria. Don't be deceived, they're equally tired of how quickly, we turn against them at the risk of their lives, to sympathize with deadly criminals, who never had sympathy for their victims.
While we pretend not to have a hand in the police that shoots indiscriminately escorting Davido, i will state @PoliceNG dismiss many of its members daily through orderly trials. Its us civilians that have remained unbridled. Everybody that reports police on Twitter is innocent.
There was an orderly room trial of policemen, where Arepo people arrested a thief and had beaten him blind before inviting police. On seeing what the people had done, they were hesitant people will post it on the internet as police brutality. Which was what happened eventually.
I'm not a police apologist, but I'm very much aware they're constrained in resources like in the health sector, which has killer doctors, aviation sector where officials allow unservicable aircrafts fly that killed people. There's nothing unique about the evil within @PoliceNG.
There's nothing unique about the rot in @PoliceNG and demonising them can only make matters worse. As satanic as you have been made to believe they are, it is this ragtag police we'd count on, when the evil ones amongst us bare their fangs. The most deadly ones live amongst us.
Today, It broke me reading how kidnappers gruesomely shot @IIyodifyd's mum, Rev Mrs Stella Nwanjah in the face, followed by @Am_sexyslim's thread. Citizens nursing pains inflicted on them by criminals amongst us wont suggest kid gloves at crime fighting.
If you've witnessed how brutal armed robbers and kidnappers are, you will understand @PoliceNG have reasons to be anxious when engaging suspects. They have relatives, children, and wives. How their signing for @PoliceNG make their blood worthless to @AbdulMahmud01 remain unclear.
Police brutality and efforts to bring them to account is an ongoing thing since Nigeria's independence. Twitter Police Force made it an individual affair when Sega turned it to a social capital. In fairness, Buhari's govt presented him with the opportunity and he can't be blamed.
Instead of cowardly outsourcing our civic duties to a Lilliput Superman, its expedient that we collectively hold erring policemen accountable. PMB failed woefully @ showing visible leadership in this regard. Like @DrJoeAbah stated in BusinessDay, FG needs 2do more, talking to us.
