AWS comes under fire for Rekognition sales to the federal government, who in turn is building concentration camps for children, and AWS's response is to improve "age range estimation" and "fear detection" in the service?

Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME?!
I mean, if they had come to me and asked "Hey Corey, what's the dumbest possible move we could make in this moment" I don't think I'd have come up with something this horrible.
"I get that ICE is very far from your only customer, but given the scrutiny, maybe you soft-launch this one at re:Invent? Y'know... read the room maybe?"

If you’re not careful you’ll spend $800 more than you were expecting.

If this stands I’m going to sue @awscloud for not disclosing that they buy hard drives from Vendor X. It’s about as relevant.
I’m not saying that the lawsuit is filed by morons, but even GDPR doesn’t consider an object store that holds data they can’t decrypt to be a “data processor.”
Okay, I am saying the suit was filed by morons: they claim that it’s unfair because AWS charges less for storage than iCloud. Yes, because iCloud adds no value on top of a raw object store.
