1. The #OrangeMenace is traveling to a virtual college today. @SNHU is one of those on-line schools that sells on-line college degree programs. Today that degree will be forever linked to White Supremacy and the Nazi-In-Chief. A real marketing branding boon for the school.

This points to the marketing challenges in the new US under a white supremacist regime. Should all contracts make clear that you can't be exposed to being connected to hate? 1. Why is @POTUS Trump threatening to name #ANTIFA an "Organization of Terror?" First that is a meaningless designation with no corollary in the US Code that I can find. Could it be that my call to list the Nazi Party as a Foreign Terrorist Organization is getting traction?
2. Regardless of listing, I see no legal impediment to Nazi Party victims using 18 USC 2333 to sue affiliated groups and members because the statute does not require listing as a element. Proof that it qualifies by engaging in international terrorism is a question for the jury.
3. Once the Nazis are listed they can be disarmed by federal and local authorities. I can imagine Trump heard that in his briefing and then he panicked because he knows the Nazis are big part of his base. (Shame on @netanyahu).

2. the Mueller grand jury. The first thing to note is that the Mueller Report lacks any notation that indicates it contains classified redacted information. Moreover a grand jury made up of ordinary citizens has a very difficult time dealing with classified information.
3. The IC is concerned with protecting the sources and methods and the contents of intercepted communications may not be as critical to keep secret but the adversary who is under surveillance may get an idea that the are being intercepted when the intercept is released.

Gender gap on the generic ballot across all Upshot/Siena polls (n=43,424): 22 points. D+11 among women, R+11 among men.
This narrows slightly to 20 points (D+10 among women and R+10 among men) on the named House ballots.
On the named ballot:

Whites with a college degree: D+4
Whites without a college degree: R+17
Nonwhites: D+28

Today's terrorist attack in Pittsburgh is truly horrifying. My thoughts go out to the families of the victims. It's not enough to just send condolences, we have to look at the larger trend and acknowledge the biggest terror threat in America:

Hate groups and the extreme right
Experts disagree on the exact % of terror attacks that are motivated by far-right ideology, the differences explained by different methods of measuring or different time-frames, but they're unanimous in that it's over 2/3 in recent decades.
This analysis by Defense One (itself fairly far right) puts it on the low side at 71%.

1. “Backlash” is one of those words typically reserved for a specific context. As in: the fight for equality and civil rights sparked a white backlash in the 1960s that defined politics for a generation. But there’s another way of looking at it.
2. Backlash is about minorities and majorities. Fact is, liberal activists in the 1960s were a minority, and their victories in the US Supreme Court were out of step with the preferences of a majority of Americans,
3. which is to say the majority of Americans was too racist to stomach Brown v. the Board of Education & equal rights. When Richard Nixon campaigned on the idea of a “silent majority” ready to restore law & order, he was highlighting the contrast b/w minority & majority opinion.

Intersectionality is acknowledging that others have it harder than you, recognizing a privilege they don’t possess, and using that privilege to help.

When we individually fail to practice intersectionality, white supremacy wins and we collectively lose.
Remember that white supremacy began because plantation owners were concerned with revolt, which had previously succeeded.

They saw that giving advantage from one group (poor whites) over another (black slaves) would breed resentment and cause infighting, preventing alliance.

#Today's story to #EndFamilySeparation Four months ago, Dad and 4-month-old entered at the Texas/Mexico border and requested #asylum. Dad and child were immediately separated and the baby put in ORR custody. #FamiliesBelongTogether
Dad was detained in a #Texas detention center where @RAICESTEXAS consulted. Dad accepted a deportation to be quickly reunited w/ his infant child. However, the Dad was deported & NOT his child. The now 8-month-old baby has been in ORR custody for 4 months. #EndFamilySeparation
The Mom and Dad now have once weekly Skype calls with their 8-month-old baby. That's right, folks. They Skype with an infant. #EndFamilySeparation #FamiliesBelongTogether
