Colombia's Avianca Holdings (Airline) notified the US DOJ and SEC that their own internal investigators are looking into possible past bribery by their employees to government officials of several countries.

They said that employees, which may have included Avianca's Senior Management and some Board Members, gave away free tickets and upgrades to government officials, though did not specify to which officials from which countries.

Looks to me like they're self reporting and will turn over receipts to try to avoid action against the company itself.

Former assistant trainer of 1973 Triple Crown-winner Secretariat was extradited from Ireland to face charges of child porn, sexual exploitation of a minor, both here an abroad.

FBI believes there are more victims and are looking for them.

Mullan was previously serving time in Ireland for producing child porn. Once that sentence was over, he was extradited back to the US.

He said he had video of their sexual encounter & threatened to sell it to a porn site if he wasn't paid off.

This guilty plea is for paying bribes for oil infrastructure business in Iraq between 2005 & 2013. The investigation started in March 2016 into suspected bribery and money laundering involving a Monaco-based oil and gas firm Unaoil.
Three other co-conspirators have trials scheduled in January 2020, to there is more to come from this case.

UCP and Kenney gaslighted the AB population with tall tales and conspiracy theories. Using lies, disinformation campaigns and misrepresentation to swing the election. The fiscal reality of the oil field service companies is stark AND international.

The ministers ran the usual list of government programs involved in graft. Trade, transportation, public works, finance, industry, higher education & agribusiness!
Of course this is just the latest development in draining the Swamp in Algeria which connects heavily to the Swamps in Canada, France, Russia & Switzerland. And all the banks & oil field services companies that laundered the cash in between the Swamps!

I missed this Friday, GE agrees to $1.5 Billion penalty for subprime mortgage securities. Related to financial crimes committed in 2005-07 that were revealed in the market collapse in 2008-09. So ignored for more than a decades, but not anymore. #ButNothingsHappening
Making junk loans, selling them on to banks as securities, ignoring signs of fraud & abuse even when banks pointed them out.
Rather than doing something about it, they just tried to find another sucker to buy it without telling them about the fraud issues.
In a sampling in 2006, they found 78% of loan files had at least one piece of false information in the package.

We are likely past the statute of limitations on any of these crimes so a criminal prosecution would likely fail. But a civil suit opens the door to evidence & $1.5B
