I’m sorry folks but I need to prepare you. Source inside rebel alliance confirms that given they won’t accept dissolution until extension is in place (after October 31st) then they expect election could well take place in December. The Christmas present no one (except me) wanted.
But source thinks November still most likely if they can agree dissolution a bit earlier, after EU council. In which case 21st November or 28th November possible dates (assuming we stick with Thursdays which, like many precedents, has been up in the air of late).
Either way an election so late in the year poses real problems for parties. Campaigning in the dark (no jokes please) isn’t fun. Even more of a problem getting voters out to cast their ballots. Probably why last election in November was in 1935. Last election in December 1923.
