Annie Besant died today in 1933. She was a staunch believer of Aryan/Brahmin superiority. Her attempts to capture power with brahmins at the top was prime factor leading to creation of Justice Party. The heirs appointed by her were unsurprisingly brahmins by birth. 1/n

Periyar in two essays on 27.7.1947, 6.8.1947 called independence as the day when power is transferred to Aryans & felt it will lead to exploitation of our presidency by North. He quipped thus, 'they can celebrate this; a Dravidian with self respect will suffer' 2/n

Doing a short thread on Dr. Muthulakshmi reddi on her 133rd birth anniversary. No adjective would be suffice to describe her contributions and legacy. We know her as a driving force behind removal of Devadasi system by legislation. There is much more to it. 1/n
Muthulakshmi born in a devadasi family in Pudukottai. Her mother Chandrammal wanted to discontinue her studies after her puberty. She refused to give up. Reason: Loss of her beloved sister to cancer. Muthulakshmi met ruler of Pudukottai and endured she got a place in college 2/n
Having been the only female student in the class, she blazed in studies and went on to get a seat in MMC. But troubles awaited her. She had to take her of her siblings and bear the brunt of eve teasing by batchmates. A professor denied her entry into surgery class 3/n

Les cas où je me suis sentie démunie en audience correctionnelle ou en cabinet au stade de l'aménagement de peine ne st pas rares face à des prévenus ou condamnés présentant de fortes addict° à l'alcool ou aux stupéfiants

Des solutions existent pourtant↘️
La mise en place d'1 protocole de soins- encadré par l'autorité judiciaire- est selon moi certainement 1 des clefs pour parvenir à mettre fin aux additions et par là même au parcours délinquantiel de certaines personnes.

Dad was detained in a #Texas detention center where @RAICESTEXAS consulted. Dad accepted a deportation to be quickly reunited w/ his infant child. However, the Dad was deported & NOT his child. The now 8-month-old baby has been in ORR custody for 4 months. #EndFamilySeparation
