A Conservative Party Facebook ad seems to have altered the headline of a BBC News article so that it claims there will be a "£14 billion pound cash boost for schools".

The ads make it appear that the BBC endorsed the £14bn figure, when in fact they criticised it. The BBC told us that the headline on the article has never changed and so has never referred to the £14 bn.

A viral piece about the link between hedge funds, the Vote Leave campaign and Boris Johnson's leadership bid claims there was a large spike in "shorting" in the lead up to Boris Johnson becoming Conservative leader.

We can't find any such spike.

We think Byline Times looked only at the number of active short positions, not all of them.

Shorting is where a fund borrows shares, sells them and hopes the share price falls so they can buy them back at a lower price, return them to the lender, and make a profit.

Because short positions are typically only active for a short period of time, you'd expect the positions active at any given time to be clustered in the recent past.

Second: The actual experts do not agree with you, and your fear-mongering is likely causing more harm than good.

So according to the NHS info, all I have to do is pop down to my GP surgery and get them to generate a username and password for me. I did that, and it was a quick process to get the info. nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/…

My company was raided. It should have been a straightforward matter. But the #MetPolice & #LBRUT forgot to seize my computer & came back to do a 2nd raid. The search warrant didn't permit a second entry, however, #LBRUT entered unlawfully

Complaints were then made to my MP #VinceCable. He liaised with the #Metpolice & #LBRUT. And then weeks later, the search warrant was completely changed & was passed off as the search warrant executed on the day of the raids.

5th July 2018 will be the 70th birthday of our beloved #NHS.

This THREAD argues that it is in severe danger under this #Toryshambles government, with #Brexit posing an imminent & particularly invidious threat.

To #SaveOurNHS we must work tirelessly together to #StopBrexit.
1/ Today's devolved #NHS is a complex federation of tens of 000s of orgs employing some 1.7m workers. It's combined annual budget is just shy of £150bn. It handles, overwhelmingly successfully, almost a million patients daily.

With each box maybe 000s of orgs, & England only:
2/ Unresolved public health issues & a fast-expanding multi-morbid elderly population, coupled with chronic underfunding & the blowback from the butchery of social care since 2010 means the #NHS is pressured as never before.
