This is in addition to the two dozen technicians brought in to fix armor and weapons, the 30 or so repairing old aircraft, the deminers in the oil areas and the Spetnatz unit on the Western Egyptian base. These are combat soldiers in a forward capacity. janes.com/article/91225/…
Russians #s may be much higher as evidenced by this September 25 2019 supply or rotation flight via Russian Air Force IL 62M. The ancient Soviet version of the DC 8 carries 174 passengers and small containerized cargo. RA-86496 is used in Syria as well.
RA-86496 is a Russian Air Force plane that was also in Libya on September 20th. The 223rd Flight Unit IL 62M gets around: Libya, Venezuela, Syria, Libya, Mauretania etc.
Same 40 year old RA-86496 aircraft was just in Venezuela last week and flew directly from Syria. Also operates out of St Petersburg and Moscow. This is probably the "Wagner Express". Reminds me of the old Executive Outcomes 727 that flew from Angola to Sierra Leone and the EG gig
Antonov 124 heavy lifter RA 82038 has delivered weapons to Turkey and Haftar so Russia is happy to make money from both sides of the war in Libya. In the 90's the Russian mercenaries used to fire their tanks at both sides in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. #WarIsABusiness
