Former-U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Yovanovitch was removed from her position in APRIL / MAY.

Early Giuliani efforts to pressure Zelensky's Administration began in APRIL / MAY.

It isn't a distraction.

He knew Russia had a trove of emails meant to damage the Clinton Campaign.

The Diplomat warned his government, who warned U.S. Intelligence.
#NEW: Barr has held private meetings overseas with foreign intelligence officials, in his effort to discredit the origins of the Russia investigation.

He's focused on "exposing" the source who told Papadopoulos that Russia had emails damaging to Clinton.

Outing their identity would be a felony, punishable by up to 3 yrs in prison.

As a matter of fact, his suggestion alone and threatening tweets are witness intimidation. Also impeachable.
***As Whistleblower protections are a hodge-podge of overlapping laws...it is unclear what the *specific* penalty would be for revealing their identity.

Doing so would certainly be illegal, as well as reprisal and witness intimidation.

All are undoubtedly impeachable offenses.

In May 2018 Laura Ingraham called for her resignation after former Rep Sessions (R-TX) sent a “private” letter to Pompeo asking for Yovanovitch's removal b/c she "spoke privately and repeatedly about her disdain for the current administration.” 2/
These accusations were repeated and then amplified by Don Jr., FoxNews, Joe diGenova, alt-right figures like Jack Pobosiec, and The Hill’s John Solomon. 3/
