Two possibilities:

Someone is making up the story about #TreyGowdy declining a position as legal counsel for the President in a possible impeachment, or #TreyGowdy declined that position.

If #TreyGowdy did decline such representation, two possibilities as to how that fact became public. Either someone else made that information public, or #TreyGowdy made that information public.

If #TreyGowdy made that information public, two possibilities. Either the client (@realdonaldtrump) authorized the disclosure by Gowdy of his request for representation, or the disclosure was unauthorized.

If #TreyGowdy disclosed the request for representation without authorization from #Trump, two possibilities. Either #TreyGowdy is subjected to an #ethics investigation for breaching #confidentiality, or legal consumers should very wary of their relations with #SC counsel.
