This is Putin’s first visit to UAE in last 12yre, his last official visit happened in 2007. On 14th Oct, he ws in Saudi Arabia.Its the impeccable timing of his visit to GCC that surprises me. Russia thawing its relations with American allies is not a recent phenomenon. 2/n
3/n Russia is right now part of #OPEC as an observer. Since 2015 it hs along with other oil producing countries played a significant role in controlling the oil prices. Bt then its not only abt oil. Russia, Saudi arabia and UAE now hv "space-ties" too.

2 days later on Oct-13 its a full moon. #SharadPoornima 🌓 On this day #Hindus r supposed to fast n stay awake at night to get d “blessings” of dark matter in d universe. Then 14 days later v’ll celebrate #Diwali as moon wld hv completed its phase—AMAWASYA/new moon. 1/n
2/n #Hinduism doesnt associate darkness with evils. Its a western concept! This is y we celebrate #Diwali which falls on AMAWASYA (new moon). It is believed that every new moon is the beginning of a new manifestation cycle. Sharad poornima is associated with health n wealth.
3/n So on this #SharadPoornima manifest good health for urself. Yeah u will hv to fast too, so that ur body detoxifies itself n prepares for the winter. 😃 Sharad poornima is associated with Laxmi Devi. Interestingly, so is #Diwali.

The scale of the #SriLanka attacks is hard to fathom - 290 dead & 500+ wounded.

Target choice, scope, coordination & device success rate makes an international nexus here *highly* likely.

Both #ISIS & #AQIS have reported links w. Sri Lanka/ns, but no evidence yet links to this.
#pt: #SriLanka authorities have pinned initial blame on indigenous Islamist movement @ntjinfo, but I'd be amazed if they - or any similar local organization - had the capacity to conduct such a complex series of mass-casualty attacks.

The bomb-maker alone appears very adept.
@ntjinfo #pt: As @RobertPostings has revealed, one of the allegedly-identified #SriLanka suicide bombers, "Zahran Hashim," was an overt #ISIS supporter (as of late-2017), with a social media following of 4,000+.

#SriLanka has also acknowledged ~40 citizens joined #ISIS in #Syria/#Iraq.

1) Hundreds killed and hundreds more wounded in Easter blasts at #SriLanka churches. While no group has yet claimed responsibility, targeting Christians is a staple of #ISIS attack directives (not to mention past attacks in places like Egypt).
2) To that point, #ISIS supporters are already celebrating the attacks as revenge for the military campaign against the group: “Just like the massacre of mosques, it is an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.” ent.siteintelgroup.com/Chatter/is-sup…

Breaking: Large terrorist attack in #India. More than 40 Indian Reserve Police Force personnel were killed and many others injured when Pakistani backed terrorists targeted a convoy with a car bomb at Awantipora in Jammu and Kashmir's today, ndtv.com/india-news/15-…
Reports suggested that the vehicle used by the terrorists was a Mahindra Scorpio carrying more than 350 kg of explosives in what is the worst attack ever on security personnel in the state.
Sources said that terrorists triggered the car bomb while 78 vehicles with over 2,500 reserve police men were on the Srinagar-Jammu highway. The stretch on which the incident occurred had been sanitized in the morning & authorities called it a serious breach of security.
