[Thread] - Absence of the concept of Shame

Context: So...there is a tweet by @/EastCoastIndia yesterday that caused a stir. Granted that he could have framed it better.
What appalled me is the kind of replies it got and the discussion it started.
People are responding with remarks of 'you want them in Burqas?' 'Why can't men control their eyes?' 'It's their choice' 'Rapist mentality' 'Men roam half naked'
I'm not justifying cat calling or harassment or anything like that. Nobody is.
What I want to bring to your attention is something different.
I believe (I could be wrong) that Hindu society is slowly and gradually stopped teaching shame to our kids.
Shame is an important emotion to have and something that you should teach your children.

Shame is your conscience telling you that you did something wrong and you should correct yourself.
Do you know why narcissists & psychopaths have trouble feeling this emotion? Because they did nothing wrong in their head.
People who feel this emotion less almost always have weaker sense of morality.
People who feel shame strongly almost always have a stronger sense of morality.
Shame = you did something wrong
Do you know why the west has become so degenerate? Because the west stopped feeling shame.
If you can make someone feel less of this emotion then you can effectively erode their morality.
This is why I say simple things like teaching your kids to dress modestly is important. It teaches them the concept
of shame.
But Ainz, look at Khajuraho art, look at Kamasutra, women in Kerala used to roam topless, did our ancestors have a weaker sense of shame?
First let me just say that we should look at the above mentioned things in proper historical and cultural context that said, no I do not think so, in fact I strongly believe that our ancestors have much stronger sense of shame than modern Hindus.
I also believe that comparing modern dressing style with our ancestors is wrong because modern fashion is not motivated by the desire to achieve higher aesthetic of our ancestors but mere apish desire to imitate the hedonistic cesspool called the west.
And because our ancestors had felt this emotion, shame, more strongly than modern Hindus they were able to transmit our civilization successfully to us.
To make sure we too successfully transmit our civilization to our next generation we need certain emotions like shame, bloodlust etc. Cultivate them.
But Ainz, can't we make our children rational and logical so that they have stronger sense of morality without teaching them emotions like shame?
I believe we should give our children as many tools as possible. Both emotional and rational. But always keep in mind that emotional tools > rational tools.
Let me give you an ex: Ever wonder why feminists & liberals have trouble regarding incest when using the logic of consent? because emotional tools (disgust) > rational tools (consent).
But Ainz, why pick on women's dresses? we have other ways of teaching our kids (and ourselves) shame, right?
We should insert the concept of shame in as many things as possible like alcohol, smoking, pre-marital sex, etc., including dressing. The stronger the sense of shame, the better.
Take a look at what the west did. It removed shame regarding women's cloths. It repeatedly told its women that there is no shame regarding your cloths, you can wear what ever you want, it is your choice.
Slowly over a period of time western women internalized this idea. At least regarding cloths, they have lost the
concept of shame. As a result...they have fashion trends like extreme cut out jeans, booty shorts, butt ripped jeans etc.
Of course there are also other factors like intra-sexual competition but I'm not going into those.
Before I finish I will repeat myself one more time. I'm not talking about rape, sexual abuse, molestation, harassment or anything related to female safety.
I repeat I'm NOT talking about women safety.
Just felt like putting my thoughts into a thread. What are your thoughts in this issue? [End]
