BREAKING: After hours-long talks Thursday, VP Pence says US and Turkey have agreed to a ceasefire in Syria; says Turks will pause their operation for 120 hours to allow YPG forces to withdraw from “the safe zone.”
VP Pence says US is in contact with SDF forces and facilitating the withdrawal of SDF forces from "the safe zone" in Syria.
VP Pence says there was also agreement with Turkey that Turkish forces will "engage in no military action" in Kobani, and the US and Turkey have committed "to a peaceful resolution and future for the safe zone."
BREAKING: VP Pence says US will not impose further sanctions on Turkey during their ceasefire agreement, and President Trump has agreed to withdraw the new sanctions that were announced against Turkey earlier this week once a permanent ceasefire is in effect.
VP Pence asserts that the US has been in contact today with Kurdish forces, and the US received assurances that "they'll be moving out" and they welcome a ceasefire in order to withdraw from "the safe zone."

Turkish foreign minister says agreement was reached with the US for Turkish forces to control the "safe zone" in northern Syria, and Turkish forces are "pausing the operation," not a "ceasefire," because, he asserts, "ceasefires can be done only between two legitimate sides."
