Transgender ideology is the tip of the spear in the Left's final assault on childhood, which has always been an obstacle to its ambitions. No one should be surprised by this. Sexualizing children in various ways has been a major left-wing agenda item for a long time.
This radical ideology is phrased in terms of "emancipating" children, but in truth it strips their autonomy away. Recognizing that children ARE children and shouldn't make extreme life-altering decisions until they grow up is the only true way to protect their autonomy.
The Left has been eroding that real protection of children's autonomy ever since it began normalizing and facilitating sexual activity for younger and younger children. Traditional morality encourages kids to wait until they're older to make such momentous choices.
But the Left is desperate to get at kids when they're young because its weird ideology is much easier to impose on children. They've been trying to shrink CHILDHOOD away to nothing while extending ADOLESCENCE into late middle age.
The message they're pushing on kids now is, "You can't even be sure if you're a boy or a girl." It's a deeply sinister effort to terminate childhood innocence by confusing and frightening kids until they plead with the State to save them and give them guidance.
Transgender ideology explicitly tells kids they can't wait until they grow up and learn more about the world and themselves before making irreversible decisions that may mutilate them for life. No, they need an army of specialists from outside the family on the case immediately.
It's an unsurprising extension of an aggressive left-wing ideology that long ago decided boyhood is a disorder that should be eradicated with drugs and therapy. Humans are not suited to collectivism, so humanity itself will be redefined. /end
