I know I probably shouldn’t say this, but I would be remiss if I didn’t. As the strike continues & our children miss out on instruction and growth, student athletes miss out on opportunities, college bound students scramble for resources and our city holds its collective breath..
I feel like we as legislators at all levels have not done our jobs. @CTULocal1 should not even have to be fighting over some of these issues. Legislators need to legislate. We have failed to meet the most basic needs of our children...
Quality of life suffers because we have not moved on what should be our cornerstone priorities. Things like homelessness, affordable housing, food security, poisonous led in school water, protection from sexual violence. All things that we should have addressed a long time ago...
All these things that affect our children and therefore affect the wellness and future of Chicago. We’ve fallen short. We all have a job to do and we need to do it. #bigfacts
